Dr. Brian Lavelle

Dr Brian Lavelle is a graduate of University College Galway in 1973. He joined Dr Fred Kee in General Practice in Stranorlar in 1976. Over the years he has had a special interest in Emergency Medicine, Family Planning, Dermatology, Psychiatry and Geriatric Medicine. In 2013 he retired from full-time General Practice but continues to work part-time in Millbrae Surgery bringing a wealth of over 40 years experience in General Practice.
Dr. Padraic Mitchell

Dr. Padraic Mitchell is a Graduate of University College Galway 1981. He completed his General Practice Training in Galway before commencing work at Millbrae Surgery in 1986. He has seen and implemented many changes at Millbrae over the past 33 years. He has special interests in Diabetes, Respiratory Medicine, Sports Medicine, Minor Surgery, Travel Medicine and Medical Teaching.
Dr. Denis McCauley
MRCPI MICGP MB BCH BAO MRCGP
Dr. Denis McCauley is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin in 1985. He completed his General Practice training in Donegal before commencing work in Millbrae Surgery in 1990. He has a special interest in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Sally Mullen
MB BCh BAO MICGP
Dr. Sally Mullen is a graduate of University College Galway in 1996. She completed her General Practice training in Donegal, before heading to Australia for a year to work in Emergency Care. She returned to work in Millbrae Surgery in 2011. Dr. Mullen has completed Postgraduate Diplomas in both Child Health and Women's Health, and enjoys all aspects of General Practice care for patients in her native county.
Dr. Róisín Fitzgerald

Dr. Fitzgerald commenced her work as a GP in the Millbrae Surgery in January 2014. She graduated with Honours from UCD Medicine in 2005 along with a Bachelor of Medical Science. She worked in Emergency Medicine in Perth, Western Australia before completing her Basic Surgical Training Scheme in Dublin in 2009. Dr. Fitzgerald completed her General Practice Training in Tullamore in 2013. She has a particular interest in skin and minor surgery. She also has an interest in women’s health, is a advanced inserter and tutor for Mirena Coil insertion, and set up Millbrae Surgery’s Mirena Insertion service in 2014.
Dr. Ciaran O’Fearraigh

Dr Ó Fearraigh joined Millbrae Surgery in 2015 after completing his General Practice Training. He is a native of Gaoth Dobhair in North West Donegal and graduated from NUI Galway in 2009. He worked for a period in New Zealand before returning to complete his GP Training in Donegal and has since completed a postgraduate Diploma in Sports & Exercise Medicine and a postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education. He enjoys all aspects of General Practice and has a special interest in Respiratory Medicine and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Rachel Bonner
MB BCh BAO MICGP
Dr Rachel Boner commenced work in Millbrae Surgery in 2017. She graduated with honours from NUI Galway in 2007. She is from Donegal and completed her GP training in Donegal. She enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a special interest in women’s health and is trained in Mirena coil insertion.
Dr. Maria Moy
MB BCh BAO MICGP MRCPI MSc
Originally from Ardara, Dr. Maria Moy graduated from UCD in 2007. She initially completed two years of Medical Basic Specialist Training in St. Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin. Dr. Moy subsequently spent a year each in Palliative Care in a community hospice setting in Kildare and in Rehabilitation Medicine in the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire. During this time she completed a Masters in Healthcare Ethics and Law in RCSI. Dr. Moy returned to Donegal to complete GP training and joined Millbrae Practice in summer of 2018 and continues to enjoy the varied nature of general practice.
Nr. Elsie Stewart
Nurse Stewart has been working as Practice Nurse in Millbrae Surgery since 2000. She completed her Nursing training in the Ulster Hospital Dundonald, Belfast in 1975. Prior to joining the Millbrae Surgery Nurse Stewart worked in the local Strangriff House Nursing Home for 14 years. The implementation of the Heartwatch and Cervical Check Programmes within the Surgery are overlooked by Nurse Stewart.
Nr. Fiona Gibbons
Nurse Fiona Gibbons is from Letterkenny and joined the Practice in 1997. She completed her Nursing training in the Craigavon Area Hospital in 1990 and then went on to complete her Midwifery training in the Royal Hospital Belfast in 1994. Nurse Fiona has a special interest in Diabetes Care, having completed the Diploma in Diabetes Management in Primary Care in 2005, and is responsible for the implementation and running of the Diabetic Clinics within our Practice.
Nr. Deirdre Gillespie
Nr Deirdre Gillespie (a local to the area) is a registered general nurse, having completed her training from The Meath Hospital, Dublin in 1997. She continued to work in Dublin until 1998, gaining a wide range of knowledge before continuing her experience in Nursing in Sydney, Australia in 1999. On returning she worked in our local community hospital and joined the Millbrae Surgery in 2003. She has completed diplomas in Asthma, Diabetes and Cervical Screening, and has a special interest in our vaccination programmes, skin health and implementing the diabetes and asthma cycle of care programmes.
Nr. Andrea Herron
Nurse Andrea Herron is from the local Finn Valley area, she joined the Millbrae team in 2017 and works mostly in the Convoy practice. She graduated from LYIT in 2011 and worked for many years in Letterkenny University Hospital. Andrea has a special interest Kidney disease as well as minor surgery.
Adelle joined the Millbrae Practice in 2016. She successfully achieved her Phlebotomy Certification from Kingston Hospital Surrey in 1999. Since this time Adelle has worked as a Phlebotomist in General Practice and Hospital settings in the UK and Donegal.
Darren Falconer is the Phlebotomist within the Millbrae Surgery having joined the team in 2017. Darren worked for many years in McElhinneys having retrained as a Phlebotomist and has recently completed his ECG and Blood Pressure monitoring training.
Coral is our full-time Practice Manager and will be working at Millbrae Surgery for 40years this October (started here in October 1979). She holds an ICGP Diploma in Management in Practice in 2007 NVQ Level 3 in Business Studies.
Naomi’s work with the Millbrae Surgery extends back to her time as Receptionist with Dr. Lavelle in Convoy Surgery in 1986. Naomi is from the Raphoe area and trained in hotel reception work prior to undertaking her administrative post at our Surgery.
Loretta has been working in the Millbrae Surgery since October 2012. She lives locally in the Finn Valley area and graduated from LYIT with an Honours Degree in Business Studies and Marketing in 2007.
Demi has been part of the Millbrae Surgery team since June 2013. Prior to taking up her role in reception and administration here she completed the Finn Valley College’s Administration Course. Demi is from the Ballybofey area.
Donna is from the Castlefin area and came to work with the Millbrae Surgery in December 2014. Donna comes from an experienced retail background, as well as having completed courses in computers, and elderly care.
Emer is from the Finn Valley area and stayed on to work with the Millbrae Surgery in May 2017, following a work placement here. She completed her degree in Administration and IT, as well as a diploma in Irish.
Roisin is from the local Finn Valley Area and completed her BA Degree in Arts & Public Social Policy 2011 Galway University. She started working in Millbrae surgery 2017.
